Pomona’s Majestic Theatre

Pomona's Majestic TheatreThe Majestic Theatre Pomona is Australia’s longest continuously running theatre. Since its opening in 1921 it has provided the community with over 83years of entertainment. Originally a silent movie house, it ran talkies from 1930 to 1987 when it reverted to its original form. It is now the oldest fully operational [and authentic] silent movie theatre in the world. Enter the auditorium and your passengers are transported back to the 1920’s with original décor, seating and presentation. All performances are accompanied live by either Ron West or Andrew Zieren on the theatre’s pipe organ. This adds measurably to the authentic silent movie experience, while you watch Rudolph Valentino gallop across the burning sands to rescue Vilma Banky from the evil clutches of Gabah the Moore in THE SON OF THE SHIEK.

Kenilworth

Kenilworh CheeseYour next stop is Kenilworth, an old alluvial gold mining area, which is recognized for its outstanding cheeses, beef and fruit. Kenilworth’s two main attractions are Kenilworth Cheese Factory, and Blind Man’s Bluff Vineyard.
All Kenilworth cheese is handcrafted using the highest quality milk from the farms surrounding the factory. The traditional methods of cheese making are employed with the cheese turned by hand during the manufacturing process. Over the past decade Kenilworth Cheese has won numerous awards for its products at National and State shows; and you have the opportunity to free-taste these award-winning cheeses.
After the Cheese Factory, we travel the short distance for a wine tasting at Bind Man’s Bluff Vineyards, where you can sit back and enjoy magnificent views of the Mary Valley and Kenilworth Bluff. After the wine tasting you board the coach for the trip home to Montville.
